Select the
CIP Security
tab to view and edit the CIP Security settings of a device:Setting | Description |

Network Port | Used to display the port label assigned by the manufacturer. This item cannot be edited. It displays a label that is corresponding to a given port. This label is obtained directly from the device. In case where it was impossible to obtain the label from the device, the label will be set to "1". Updating the device’s firmware, if the label displayed is incorrect. |
CIP Security Configuration Status | Shows the CIP security configuration status of devices. Configured Means the device is configured to utilize CIP security with FactoryTalk Policy Manager .Not Configured (Factory Default) Means the device's CIP security configuration is cleared. All security settings are now in Factory Default mode (CIP Security not active but can be configured if the CIP Security port is enabled). Note the CIP Security port 2221 is open when the device is in this state. In Progress The configuration of CIP Security is in progress. Incomplete configuration The configuration of CIP Security is not completed yet. Unknown There was an unknown error in retrieving the value of the status. |
UDP/TCP Port 2221 Status | Shows the status of 2221 IANA Port. Enabled Port 2221 is enabled. Disabled Port 2221 is disabled, and it can only be re-enabled by resetting the device to its factory default configuration. Pending This device has a pending port change and requires a reset. Unknown There was an unknown error in retrieving the value of the status. |
Disable CIP Security (Port 2221) | Select this checkbox to disable port 2221 for both TCP and UDP communications. These ports are used for CIP Security communication. CIP Security cannot be used
if these ports are disabled. The change will be committed after Apply
button is pressed. |
