Auto discover a device or network
The Auto discover function enables the to continuously scan a selected device or network and provide real-time status updates. For example, if Auto discover is enabled, the recognizes nodes during the discover cycle and stores the node information. If an error occurs, such as a communication cable being pulled from a device, the places a red X over the device to indicate that it cannot be recognized.

To Auto discover a selected device or network
- In thedialog box, click a device or network to auto discover in the network topology tree.FactoryTalk LinxNetwork Browser
- ClickAuto discover
. The icon next to the selected device or network animates to indicate auto
discovery. - To stop auto browsing the device or network, clickAuto discover again.
