Add a single remote proxy driver

Remote Devices via Proxy Service
 permits each remote FactoryTalk Linx workstation to communicate with automation devices by bridging through a central FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Professional workstation. A client can connect 2,000 remote drivers with 2,000 remote devices at most. To change the devices presented in a remote proxy driver, go to the proxy server, and then change the associated driver on the server.
Prerequisites
  • A central workstation has FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Professional configured
    • Version 6.31.00 or later is installed
    • A
      Professional
      activation is available
    • The central gateway can receive messages on port 44818
    • The Remote Proxy Service is enabled and configured

    • The FactoryTalk Linx Network Browser on the central workstation has network driver(s) configured
To add a single remote proxy driver
  1. From the
    FactoryTalk Linx Network Browser
    , select Configure Drivers.
  2. In
    Configure Drivers
    , select
    Remote Devices via Proxy Service
    in
    Available Driver Types
    , and then select
    Add New
    .
  3. In
    Configure Remote Proxy Driver
     >
    Add Single/Multiple Driver(s)
    , select
    Add single driver
    .
  4. In
    Local Driver Name
    , edit the name of the driver as needed.
  5. In
    Server's IP Address or Hostname
    , enter the IP address or hostname of the server you want to connect to, and then select Refresh button.
    小贴士:
    DNS host names are not supported through a Proxy Service so only IP Addresses may be entered.
  6. In
    Server's Display Name
    , edit the name of the server.
  7. In
    Remote Linx Driver Name
    , select the driver.
  8. Select
    OK
