Move items in the Logical Organizer
There are three ways to move items in the Logical Organizer using drag-and-drop:
- Drag-and-drop an item on another item. When you drop the item on the new parent item, the dragged item appears as a child item under that parent item. If the dragged item has any descendant items, they are moved as well. Note that if you drop the item on its own parent item, you create a copy of the dropped item.
- You can also insert the dragged item between two targets by dropping it between the programs, phases, or folders when the cursor changes to the green line insert cursor.
- You can drag-and-drop programs from the Controller Organizer to the Logical Organizer. This reorganizes your logical model according to execution model in the Controller Organizer.
Be aware of the following details when moving items in the Logical Organizer:
- If the name of a moved routine conflicts with the name of an existing routine under the target program, an integer is added to the moved routine name to uniquely identify it (ProjAProgR001, ProjAProgR0011, ProjAProgR0012, and so on).
- You can select multiple items to move. The move operation proceeds if at least one item is legal to move (only the legal items are moved). If none of the selected items can be moved, the NOT cursor appears when over the target item.
- When you move items in the Logical Organizer, none of the programs or phases are moved in the Controller Organizer.
- You can also drag-and-drop programs and routines from the Controller Organizer into the Logical Organizer to rearrange items in the logical model. Note that if you drag a program with descendant items in the Logical Organizer, the descendant items are moved with program when you drop it in the Logical Organizer. This does not change the scheduling of any of the items in the Controller Organizer.
