Import Configuration - Online Options Program Dialog Overview

The Online Options dialog box displays when you are online and the import has been configured such that logic can be modified. (That is, the Online Options dialog box does not open if the import component is being discarded or if the imported component does not contain logic).
Make note of the text that displays that tells you how program logic edits are downloaded to the controller.
Parameters
Logic Edits
This section determines whether imported logic edits are downloaded to the controller after they are imported, and if so, how they are downloaded.
If the import component is a rung or routine, the option that you select also applies to any edits that already exist in routines located in the program or phase you are importing into.
When an import component is rungs, routine, or program, the logic contained in the .L5X file is first inserted into the offline project as Pending Edits. Whether or not the imported logic is also downloaded to the controller during the import is determined by which of the three program edits options is selected on the Online Options dialog box.
Note that the selected program edits option only affects whether the imported logic is downloaded; the new or modified tags, User-defined Data Types, User-defined String types and Add-On Instructions referenced by the imported logic are always downloaded to the controller, regardless of which program edits option is selected.
The program edit options are as follows:
  • Import Logic Edits as Pending
  • Accept Program Edits
  • Finalize All Edits In Program
    TIP:
    When you finalize edits, the dialog box contains an SFC Reset Warning message if the import file contains a Sequential Function Chart routine. This warning message is included in the dialog box if any edits were made to the SFC routine that may cause the SFC routine to reset to the initial step. Import Logic Edits as Pending is the default.

Click this button to finish the import, except:
  • If the Import fails.
  • If the controller key switch is in Hard Run mode.
  • If Accept Edits is the selected option under Program Edits.
  • If Finalize Edits is the selected option under Program Edits.
Cancel
Click this button to close the Online Options dialog box and return to the Import Configuration dialog box.
