Select Recent Communications Path Dialog Box Overview
This dialog box allows you to choose from the most recent communication paths selected. The list appears in reverse chronological order, with the most recent path listed first.
Note that all fields on this dialog box may not appear, depending on the location from which you have accessed the dialog box, and to what controller you are connected.
Parameters
Controller/Path
The first column displays the name of the controller with which the path that was last used to communicate. If it has not been used to communicate to a controller, then this column displays None. When you connect or go online with a controller, the controller name in this column is updated with the name of the physical controller. In any case, a particular path can appear only once in this list. The most recent controller name associated with a particular path is displayed. The second column displays the actual path.
Show Only Paths Matching Serial Number in Project
Check this box if you want to be display only those communication paths that have been used by the controller linked to your project.
Note that for controllers that do not support serial numbers, this option is disabled.
Serial Number in Project
Displays the serial number of the controller to which the project is linked.
Path in Project
This is the path stored in the project file. If a project is not open, this field will be empty, and the label dimmed.
Go Online
Click this button to go online with the controller using the path you have selected.
Clicking on this button has the same effect as clicking on Apply (i.e., the software tries to go online using the current path).
If a project is not open, the file that matches the name of the controller is opened. If you already have a project open, the software uses that. If you are already online with a different controller, the open project is closed, and the matching file opened.
This button is disabled if:
- The selected node is not a controller supported by the software, or
- You are already online with the selected controller.
This is the default action for the dialog box, so it will be executed when you double click an entry in the RSWho tree, or press Enter.
Upload
Clicking on this button applies any changes and brings up the Connected To Upload dialog box.
If a project is not open, the file that matches the name of the controller opens. If you already have a project open, the software uses it. If you are already online with a different controller, the open project closes, and the matching file opens.
This button is disabled if:
- The selected node is not a controller supported by the software, or
- You are already online with the selected controller.
Download
Clicking on this button applies any changes an brings up the Download Confirmation dialog box.
The software always downloads the open project, so if you are already online with a different controller, the software connects to the selected controller before bringing up the Download Confirmation dialog box.
This button is disabled if:
- A project file is not open,
- The selected node is not a controller supported by the software, or
- You are already online with the selected controller.
Close
Click this button to accept your selection and close the Select Recent Communications Path dialog box.
Help
Click this button for help on the Select Recent Communications Path dialog box.
Reset Path List
Click this button to delete all the communication paths from the list, excluding the path that is associated with the open project.
- If a project is open and a path is set for the project, when you click the Resent Path List button, then all the entries in the list are deleted, excluding the one associated with the opened project.
- If a project is closed or if a project is open and a project path is not set, when you click the Reset Path List button, then all the entries in the list are deleted.
The Reset Path List button is available when in offline mode and when the Select Recent Communications Path window is open and there is at least one communication path in the list.
Set Project Path
Click this button to apply the current path to your project.
This button is disabled if:
- there is no project open
- you have not selected a path
- the target node is not a controller supported by theLogix Designerapplication
- you're online with a controller and you've changed the current path
Clear Project Path
Click this button to set the project path to <none> and immediately apply the change.
This button is disabled if:
- there is no project open
- the path is already set to <none>
