Monitor Tags

Tags reference memory locations in the controller. Use the Logix Designer Data Monitor to monitor tags in your project. The Data Monitor lists all the tags in a selected scope. When in the Data Monitor, the actual values for the tags that are shown and new values can be entered. Only a few tag settings can be modified in the Data Monitor.
To monitor tags
  1. Switch the controller to Run mode.
  2. Double-click the
    Controller Tags
     folder in the
    Controller Organizer
    .
    The Data Monitor appears, and provides you with a means for viewing the values assigned to specific tags. This includes the status of the I/O modules. You can view:
    • Tag Name (read only)
    • Value
    • Force Mask
    • Style
    • Type (read only)
    • Description
      TIP:
      The background color of a cell indicates whether the cell is read only. A white background indicates that the cell is modifiable; gray indicates that the cell is read only.
