Entitlements

Two entitlement types are available for
FactoryTalk® Remote Access
: domain and Runtime entitlements.
NOTE:
See How to activate a entitlement to learn how to activate an entitlement.
See Entitlements in the
FactoryTalk® Hub
online manual for further information on entitlement purchasing and allocation.

Entitlement types and upgrades

  • FactoryTalk® Remote Access
    Runtime entitlements:
Allows HMIs or IPCs to connect to
    FactoryTalk® Remote Access
and determine the operations that are granted by that connection. Devices are provided by default with a Runtime entitlement that may consist of a
    Pro
    or
    Basic
    entitlement.
NOTE: To learn more about what license is assigned to each device by default, see the device sections listed under System components.
You can upgrade any Basic entitlements by purchasing a Pro license on the Commerce Portal for your organization.
The Pro entitlement upgrade allows yout to obtain extra features. This means that the Basic entitlement remains assigned to the device and you cannot rehost the Basic entitlement to other devices.
    NOTE:
    • If you want to detach a Basic entitlement, you must first detach any Pro entitlement upgrades, if present.
    • If you remove a device from a domain, any entitlements assigned to it become available for rehosting.
See the table below for further information about the Basic and Pro entitlements:

    Runtime entitlements
are perpetual, including Runtime entitlement upgrades.
  • FactoryTalk® Remote Access
    1/2/5/10/25/50 Concurrent Connection entitlements

entry to allow each admin and owner user to receive an email every day during the grace period, informing them about any days left to the entitlement expiration.

    FactoryTalk® Remote Access
    1/2/5/10/25/50 Concurrent Connection entitlement
