Jay Flores has a mission: Instill a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in young students by making STEM exciting.

The power of STEM, Jay advocates, can help young girls and boys become super heroes, solve large and small problems, and contribute their best ideas to improve our planet.

As the Rockwell Automation STEM Ambassador, Jay knows just how important STEM is to the future of the company and the world. He is spreading the word through his energizing presentations and outreaches to schools, community groups, and industry experts. Skillful in connecting STEM to everyday life, his focus is to encourage and motivate STEM students to become the innovators of tomorrow.

The work that Jay does furthers the commitment to STEM education by Rockwell Automation, the largest company in the world that is dedicated to industrial automation and information. With STEM education as a philanthropic priority, we believe in Engineering Our Future™ and Inspiring Young Minds™ through programs that include FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), Project Lead the Way, and ST Math.

Jay joined Rockwell Automation in 2012 in the sales training program and later served as an account manager in southeastern Florida. He holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The youngest member to vote in the national Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) in its history, Jay last served as vice president on the Region 7 board.

Among his other achievements, Jay was one of only 20 youths in 2014 invited to Washington D.C., to present to congressional leaders, STEM advocates, and policy makers. This presentation was part of the annual Leaders on the Fast Track (LOFT) Video Game Innovation Fellowship from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF). LOFT Fellows are selected for their vision, creativity, and positive impact on their community.

Jay lives in Miami, but travels frequently for speaking engagements and to compete at an international level in Obstacle Course Racing.
